About the Teacher

All about Amber!

Amber graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in biomedical engineering and a minor in chemistry. She taught high school physics for several years before moving to Portland and having her two children Arthur and Mae. As a stay-at-home mom, Amber was always looking for fun things to do with her kids. When she tried to find preschool science classes though, there was nothing out there. So she combined her love of science with her love of little kids and created The Little Lab! Her goal with The Little Lab is threefold: foster curiosity, build confidence, and create community. She has taught classes and science camps all over the community for the last several years. All current classes are out of her house and she also travels around Portland to provide awesome science activities at birthday parties. 

Amber loves baking, jigsaw puzzles, hiking, pottery, event planning, and going on adventures. Her favorite color is red and her favorite pie is strawberry rhubarb.
